Course content
The online Urologic Robotic Surgery Course consists of 9 modules covering topics in Urologic Robotic Surgery including Fundamentals, Basic and Advanced Surgical Procedures. The Fundamentals module covers proper utilization of the daVinci robot in urologic surgery. Intuitive Surgical’s Online Training System complements the Fundamentals section and is a pre-requisite for the course. The Basic section includes transperitoneal radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and sacrocolpopexy surgical procedures. The Fundamentals and Basic sections are mandatory for CME credit/hours of participation. Advanced procedures are optional and include LESS and microsurgery, retroperitoneal radical prostatectomy, pediatrics, and radical cystectomy surgeries. Each module includes learning objectives, content, video (except the fundamental module), posttest and evaluation. The desired result from this educational activity is that the learner increases or enhances his knowledge and competence in urologic robotic surgery including discussing the surgical technique for safe and effective robotic surgery, indications and contraindications, and methods to manage complications..
